Easter

Easter was so fun for Emery this year. Corey was gone to North Carolina already and I was staying with my parents, so we took her to the egg hunt in Newdale.  She LOVED it!  She got a good basket full of goodies and even won a few prizes! We also decorated some eggs, which lasted a lot longer than it did last year!
Let the egg hunting begin!! Emery was soooo excited!
Scoping out the hiding candy and eggs...
Her cousin Dalton was there too!
Waiting in line for her prizes...she looks like such a big girl here...
On Easter we went to church with grandma and grandpa, then afterwards Emery got to find more eggs and her basket that the Easter Bunny left for her.
The Easter Bunny left a lot of different little odds and ends in the eggs, so she didn't overload on sugar...though she did anyway. ha
Hopping like the Easter Bunny

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the most wonderful dad! This morning we were lazy and just hung out.  Corey opened his gifts...golf shoes, tees, a homemade tie and card from emery, and a few goodies.  She also answered a bunch of questions about her daddy.  Corey loved reading it, some of her answers were so cute and funny.
After his gifts I made him his favorite breakfast of fried eggs, rice, and smoked sausage, with cheese and ketchup.  Sounds interesting, but he loves it and it is pretty yummy.  He had a Polynesian mission companion who made this breakfast all the time.
Emery always does this so when I found this idea it was perfect! So simple too
Daddy's little bud.  Gage will be 4 months old in one week.  It's crazy how fast he is growing! He is a chunky monkey and we're lovin it!
Emery loves listening to the narrated stories on the ipad.  And this one was so funny.  I'm glad I caught these candid moments.  So sweet.  Today Emery treated her dad like a King.  She kept smiling at him and giving him kisses.  What a sweet girl. (when she wants to be haha)
Corey is not only a great dad, but an amazing husband too.  I don't know what I would do without him.  He helps me so much.  In this job we don't get to spend too much time together, but he definitely tries his best and does everything he can to make us happy.  I love you babe!
Emery loves playing with her dad, and most of the time he is MORE than happy to play with her.  He is usually the guy at family get togethers that is outside playing with the kids instead of chatting it up with the adults.
Right in the face...good one dad.  Haha
I decided that I need to start taking more pictures of Corey and I.  Not only for us to look back on, but also for our children and grandchildren.  I love looking at pictures of my parents.  It's so neat to see who they were, and where they've been in their lives.

We love you daddy and you are the greatest dad ever!! You are so special to us and you fill our lives with joy!
Happy Father's Day

Month of March and blessing day

Gage is about 2 weeks old in these pictures.  Emery loves holding him.  And she was actually the only one who could get him to stop crying and take his binki.  It was crazy.  She would always say, "guys your not good at it, I am good at it." and she was!

Corey did such an amazing job with the blessing.  I'm sad that so many of these have his binki in, but he was not happy so, ya do what ya gotta do.
Emery loves pulling faces for pictures...following in daddy's footsteps.  haha
With Papa Lewis and G-ma Chris
Great g-ma and g-pa Rasmussen
Sunday snooze with daddy.  Finally fell asleep after a long afternoon.  This is actually the only way we could get him to sleep.  So at night we would take turns with him sleeping on us.  If we laid him down he would scream and he would not sleep on his back.  So much different than Emery!!
He's still super sweet though....
We made rainbow pancakes for St. Patty's day. Emery thought they were so fun! I forgot to take a pic of her enjoying them though...duh.
Emery had to get her second set of ear tubes.  So sad.  She got her adenoids taken out as well.  I'm hoping this will do the trick and stop her from getting so many ear infections!!! This was right before she went into surgery.  They gave her this juice that made her really loopy and silly in a matter of 5 minutes!  She was saying that there were 2 daddy heads, and when she sat up you could tell she was dizzy cuz she leaned side to side and had no control.  I tried to get some pictures when she was in recovery, but she was a BEAR!!! Holy cow.  We had to walk on egg shells....
This is 2 days later, as happy as can be. It's crazy how fast kids recover!!! I should have told them to take her tonsils out too cuz now she snores!!! haha
Gage a little over 1 month...will only sleep on his tummy.
Don't judge!! I was getting desperate one day.  I could not get him to stop crying so I sat him down on the washing machine as it was going.  It put him to sleep in like 2 seconds!!!! I thought hallelujah!! I've found the trick.  But it never worked after that day.  haha.  But at least for a few hours I got something done!!! It was hard to pack up the house with a 3 year old needing your attention and this little guy crying non-stop.  I'm glad that's over!!

Welcome the North Carolina!

So once again we've left the land of snow to spend another summer in a warmer climate.  Corey a few days after we blessed Gage.  I stayed in Idaho with my parents for about 3 weeks until I felt like I was a little more under control after having Gage.  It was a stressful time, with Gage and his screaming, but once he was on the prevacid he slowly started to get better.  (the kid had issues..haha) I pretty much forced my mom to fly with me to NC.  I knew I couldn't have done it by myself.  Even with her help it was...let's just say it was an interesting trip.  Emery was not coping well with all of the changes, first the baby came, then daddy left, then we lived with grandma and grandpa for 3 weeks, then we drove to utah and flew all the way to the east coast.  I think total trip/traveling time (including the drive from the New Bern airport to Jacksonville) was 16 hours.  We left Idaho at 7am and arrived at our apartment at 11:00pm! What a day!  Gage cried on the first flight for the first hour and then finally slept.  I'm sure everyone around me was so annoyed.  Then Emery wouldn't get off the first plane.  She fell the ground in the isle and would not move! She screamed and had a melt down.  I was so embarrassed, stressed, and tired.  My mom helped so so much.  Especially once we got here.  She watched the kids while I ran errands so set up house.  (there is always so much to do and so much to get when you move every summer!)

I'm so glad I got this Moby wrap at my shower, it helped tremendously for this trip.  So cute.
Finally, kids and Daddy reunited!!
So Goodbye snow and bitter cold....
HELLO beaches and beautiful weather! It hasn't gotten to hot yet, but every week gets a little hotter....
So far we have LOVED Jacksonville, NC.  It is so so beautiful and the beaches are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  Emery could play all day long at the beach.  Digging, making sand castles, running away from the waves, splashing in the waves, and collecting sea shells.  It is a bit of work to get there with 2 kids, but it is so worth it.
Oh how I missed my hubby!!!!
Thanks again Mom for all your help!! I wouldn't have been able to do it with out you!!!

Collecting her first sea shell!
 Buddy has no clue...
Emery's second time at the ocean...first time being able to get in!  We went once in California but she was only 7 months....
